Four routes we run again and again, because they are the ones we would take our own friends on. Never more than eight travellers.
One small country, four very different weeks
Every journey below is a starting point, not a fixed departure. Dates, pace and length move to fit the group — and if none of them is quite right, we build the route from scratch.
Kazbegi & the Military Highway
Tbilisi to the foot of a 5,054-metre mountain, along the only road across the Greater Caucasus.
- The walk up to Gergeti Trinity Church at 2,170 m

Svaneti & the Ushguli Towers
Four days on foot from Mestia to the highest inhabited village in Europe, sleeping in family houses.
- The Mestia–Ushguli trek, 58 km over the Chkhutnieri pass

Gudauri: Ski & Sky
A thousand metres of vertical in winter, and the most reliable paragliding air in the country in summer.

- Tandem paragliding over the Devil's Valley, May to October
- Two-hour transfer from Tbilisi, winter tyres and chains as standard
Kakheti Wine Country
Qvevri cellars, a supra that outlasts the daylight, and — in late September — the harvest itself.
- Family marani where the wine still ferments underground in clay
- Rtveli: cutting grapes with the family, late September to mid-October
- Sighnaghi on the ridge, Bodbe monastery and the Alazani plain below
- A proper supra, with a tamada who will make you answer a toast

What every journey comes with
Licensed local guides
Born in the regions they guide, licensed by the national tourism administration, and fluent in English or German.
Transport and transfers
Airport pick-up, a 4x4 where the road needs one, and a driver who knows which passes close and when.
Guesthouses we know
Family houses rather than chain hotels, booked with people we have worked with for years. Breakfast and dinner included in the mountains.
Support on the road
One number, answered by a person in Tbilisi, for the whole time you are in the country.
Before you book
Can you change the itinerary?
That is the normal case rather than the exception. Roughly two thirds of our trips end up as a mix of two journeys, or as something built from scratch around the dates you have. Send us the outline and we will send back a day-by-day plan.
How small are the small groups?
Eight travellers is the hard ceiling, six on the Gudauri journey. Most departures run with four to six. Private trips for two are available on every route at a supplement.
What is not included in the price?
International flights, travel insurance, lunches in the cities, and optional extras such as tandem paragliding or cat-skiing. Everything else on the itinerary is covered, and we tell you the extras before you pay, not after.
How do I hold a date?
A 20% deposit confirms the trip. The balance is due fourteen days before you arrive, and cancellations more than fourteen days out are refunded in full.
Do I need to be fit?
Only for Svaneti, where four consecutive walking days ask for real preparation — we set that out honestly in the trek write-up. Kazbegi has one long walk you can opt out of; Kakheti and Gudauri ask nothing of your legs.
